The Bangham Utility District has completed a series of pressure tests in the Bear Creek Point area and it has revealed that 20 PSI is not being provided, which is in violation of certain TN Department of Environment and Conservation regulations. Therefore, we will not be able to install any additional water taps to sites in this area until a resolution is achieved. Please be assured, however, that we are making it a priority to solve this issue as quickly as possible and will continue to update this website in your behalf. We appreciate your understanding and patience in this matter.

10-23-2024 UPDATE: A specialized engineering team has been retained by the Board and a comprehensive study is now under way.

01-23-2025 UPDATE: The first conclusion of the engineering research is that there is a necessity for the installation of a pump station to the area. We are working to locate an appropriate location and following through with the necessary details involved.

02-11-2025 UPDATE: A pump station is in the design phase and will be utilized to correct the pressure in the Bear Creek area. The timing is dependent upon approval by the state, but we are moving ahead ASAP.

04-29-2025 UPDATE: Progress is being made on the construction of a pump station.

06-03-25 UPDATE: The Board is finalizing the acquisition of property which will be used to build a pumping station that will correct the pressure problems on Bear Creek Point.

09-17-25 UPDATE: Property for the pump station has been obtained and closing is scheduled for September 25, 2025. Requests for construction bids have already been prepared and are ready for submission.

10-02-25 UPDATE: Property purchase has been finalized and construction bids are being submitted.

10-23-25 UPDATE: Construction bids will be opened October 28, and the job will be awarded to the lowest bidder.

10-28-25 UPDATE: Bids were opened and awarded to West Farms & Construction.

11-20-25 UPDATE: Contractor has ordered materials and is waiting for delivery.

12-23-25 UPDATE: Final meeting taking place today. Construction can begin per contractor’s schedule.

02-04-26 UPDATE: Construction will begin March 1, and will be completed by June 29, 2026.

04-23-26 UPDATE: Pump is on back-order, but all other materials have arrived.

05-27-26 UPDATE: Construction has started on the Pump Station.
